Retelling Lesson

For this lesson I chose to use the book, "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat".  I read the book to the children and we then completed many activities on the objective of retelling. It was such a fun lesson and the children really seemed to enjoy it!

We used my handmade felt board to put the items in order that the Old Lady swallowed. The students loved getting to take turns sticking the items to the felt.

I assessed their knowledge by allowing them to glue the items in order onto a piece of paper. This is definitely a lesson that I will keep in my teacher tool box for my upcoming years!
